The 'Chinoiserie Bird' Vintage 1970s Chinese Foil Art – Shimmering Bird of Paradise Metallic Picture

I found this vintage 1970s Chinese foil art picture and thought the contrast between the shimmering metallic artwork and the bright red frame was fantastic. The artwork is created using layered colored foils, a popular mid-century technique that catches the light beautifully when viewed from different angles. It depicts a colorful bird of paradise with a long, sweeping tail feather perched among bright red camellias and white blossoms. This piece is a genuine vintage Chinese export item made for the Western Chinoiserie market. The entire piece measures 27cm by 23cm, making it an excellent size for a gallery wall or a standalone statement piece on a smaller wall. The foil artwork is in excellent vintage condition, sealed safely behind glass, and the vibrant red frame is sturdy with only minor, expected age-related wear. On the reverse, the original backing tape secures two flat-laying metal screw hooks. These require a hanging cord before the picture can be hung.
